I am not an impulse driven person when it comes to renting hotel rooms and buying flights.
So, far I am seeing rooms for over $200 and flights for around $400.
We have 8 people going to Vegas and I am searching for the best deals.
anyone have any real clue on getting this done reasonable.
At this point every single expense I have encountered for the Vegas show is higher. www.kayak.com is the site I have been using to find flights.
we have rooms on friday and saturday at the imperial for $120 a night, and sunday thru friday at the stratosphere for $60 a night. The cheapest flights we have found are by going straight through continentals website, priceline and all those are looking hire than going straight to the source for us.
Kevin,
Welcome to going to the other side of the world for a trade show :)
SW had the cheapest flights for us. We selected Harrah's ( trying to find the Crowne of LV) for about $145 a night double occupancy. A little more than properties on the outskirts, but within stumbling distance of the show.
So far way. way less expensive for everything than Rosemont!
karl and Brian
thanks for the response. We have it taken care of now. $88 at the Imperial. We do need to select the Meeting place.
I liked the imperial for the abundance of restaurants.
And we went with american for the flights at about $400 per person.
Thanks again
On Hauntworld many people are talking about the Stratosphere as being cheap. The Imperial Palace is also the closest cheap hotel. I am not familiar with either so do not take this as a recommendation.
As far as flights, yes even out of Columbus it is around $200 and airfare is usually pretty cheap here.
I really hope, for the vendors sake, that the increases do not affect the Vegas show too much.
I stayed at the Stratosphere when I went out for the TW site survey. It's a decent hotel but it's a LONG way from the convention center. You will definitely be paying a lot of cab fare back and forth. We are staying at Harrahs and I believe that Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville Bar will be a great hang out! Very close and a cool atmosphere!
After an hour of searching I also agree that Harrahs looks like the place to stay. Check it out using Google Earth and you can clearly see that Harrahs is very close and the best price for its location compared to what is around it.
Harrahs rates vary per night, but here is the run down. We are going early to setup our booth.
Yeah we know that the stratosphere is far and cab fair isn't cheap but you can ride the shuttle bus on the strip for $3 one way or like $7 all day. So it's not that bad. Plus its really not that long of a walk. I walked from the stratosphere to the mirage last July in 115 degree heat and it really wasn't that bad. In March they usually get weather between 65-85 sometimes a bit hotter but as everyone always says....it's a dry heat. And that really does make a huge difference. Plus for $60 a night you can't beat that.
I stayed at Harrah's last July as well. Great location on the strip...awesome dueling piano bar...really close to an outside flare bar and right next to girredelli's ice cream shop. Just don't open the mini bar....holy crap expensive. But the pop vending machine was only about $2 a bottle....that's helped us survive.
